Timberlake 2, Priest River 1

PRIEST RIVER — It was a battle until the very end, but the Spartans, led by seniors Connor Stevens and Carson Hughes, fell just short, 2-1 against Timberlake on senior night.

During the 32nd minute, Priest River went on top when Stevens scored off a great pass from Hughes. The Spartans were playing well defensively and took a 1-0 lead into halftime.

However, in the second half, Timberlake scored two quick goals and were able to hold on for the remainder of the half to secure the 2-1 victory.

Priest River finished the regular season 2-11 with two conference wins over St. Maries.

Timberlake 6, Priest River 0

PRIEST RIVER — The Spartans were defeated 6-0 by Timberlake on senior night. Although the night didn’t go as planned, Priest River players still had some solid performances.

“We played better than last night for sure, but we have some things to work on before districts on Monday,” assistant coach Nick Tucker said. “Haley (Braae) was strong as always and Clara Kennedy had her best game of the year, in my opinion. It was definitely an emotionally charged first half due to senior night.”

Timberlake had only one goal until around the 30 minute mark, where they scored three more before halftime to extend their lead to four goals. Ultimately, the Tigers tacked on two more goals in the second half to secure the 6-0 victory.

Priest River finished the regular season 6-8 with two wins over St. Maries, Newport and Grangeville.
