Oct. 8, 1973 – LUND SCORES 4TH
Sandpoint’s Zane Lund was walking a little funny Monday but the stiffness couldn’t stifle how pleased he was with his fourth place finish at Saturday’s horseback endurance ride at Mount Spokane. “The ride covered 52 miles of mighty rugged terrain,” he said. “I’d say about 35 miles of that was uphill.” Lund completed the ride in five hours, 20 minutes, just 10 minutes behind the first place finisher.

LEONA ROBINSON TO WED McNETT
Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Robinson, Rte. 1, Sandpoint, announce the engagement of their daughter, Leona Mary, to Donald Robert McNett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard McNett, Spokane. The wedding will be Nov. 23 at United Methodist Church. Miss Robinson is a SHS graduate. Mr. McNett, a West Valley High graduate, is employed by American Sign & Indicator Co., Spokane. They will reside in Post Falls.

OLSONS OBSERVE 50TH ANNIVERSARY
A Sept. 24 reception in the Coeur d’Alene Convalescent Center marked John and Anna Olson’s 50th wedding anniversary. Fifty relatives and friends from Sandpoint joined staff and patients to honor them. Mr. Olson came to this country from Sweden, then sent for his future wife to join him. They were married in 1923 in Rawlins, Wyo. In 1943 they moved to Sandpoint where Mr. Olson worked in carpentering. The Olsons have two children, Mrs. Lillian Barry and Wesley A. Olson, Sandpoint, 11 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

Oct. 8, 1948 – SHIRLEY HORNER FETED
Shirley Horner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Horner, celebrated her 13th birthday with a group of friends Thursday with games and dancing. Enjoying the fun and refreshments were Mary Ray Bergeron, Shirley Thurlow, Barbara Woolsey, Shirley Holmes, Kay Kaufman, Marjorie Steel, Sonia Henderson, Ann Delducco, Geraldine Evans and Evelyn Boling.

BOYS CELEBRATE SEVENTH BIRTHDAYS
Dickie Boling, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jess Boling, celebrated his 7th birthday Tuesday with his friends. Guests were Sandra Carter, Patty Hagadone, Dickie Bowlby, Jerry Howland, Kurt Brown, Thomas Marshall, and Stanley Tillberg. Traditional birthday refreshments were served and games were played.
Ronnie Bergeron, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Bergeron celebrated his 7th birthday Thursday with games and refreshments. Guests included Sharon Gehlan, Donnella Schedler, Betty Jo Weaver, Larry Ham, Kenneth Pietsch, Barbara Gastineau, Michael McFarland, Carol Ann Thompson, Larry Lee Eng, Ann King, Nila Rae Pennington, Anna Margaret Holien, Mary Shields, and Bobby Bergeron.

CLARK FORK COUPLE WED
George Maloney, 22 and Ramona Roundsville, 19, Clark Fork, were married here last week by Justice of the Peace F.G. Harrell.
