Forum looks at Medicare enrollment

SANDPOINT — Do you want to know more about Medicare?

You're in luck. Today's Geezer Forum highlights Medicare enrollment and the yearly forum also reminds existing Medicare recipients of the coverage changes that invariably come along each year. The Medicare enrollment forum takes place today in the Community Room at Umpqua Bank, 2:30-4 p.m.

The actual Medicare Enrollment period is Oct. 15 to Dec. 7. Insurance agents who deal with Medicare cannot technically sell Medicare policies before Oct. 15, but information can be obtained.

Janine Wilson, from SHIBA (Senior Health Insurance Benefits Advisors) will be with on hand to talk about Medicare basics, and to discuss 2024 changes. SHIBA is a division of the Idaho State Dept. of Insurance. Wilson and her colleagues work exclusively on sharing Medicare information with current and potential Medicare recipients.
