LPOSD board meeting planned for Tuesday

PONDERAY — Lake Pend Oreille School District will be holding its monthly board meeting today which will include discussion about the Idaho School Boards Association's proposed resolutions for 2024.

The meeting will feature a student presentation from Sandpoint High School, a financial update, and a superintendent’s report. The board will also go through a first reading of policy concerning student questioning and arrests, and the ISBA's resolutions for this year.

The ISBA’s 2023 resolutions include school age and accountability requirements, K-12 funding formula principles, open enrollment and building capacity limits, paraprofessional requirements and local testing, placement of school nurses and speech language pathologists on career ladder, streamlining ISBA consistent priorities, and bond and levy disclosure amendments.

Second readings of policy will cover revisions to attendance requirements and review of the policy prohibiting tobacco and nicotine possession use, among other items.

The meeting will take place today at 5 p.m. at the LPOSD District Office, 901 Triangle Drive, Ponderay.
