CREATE announces concert, documentary showing
From an award-winning documentary to a toe-tapping music, plenty of events are on tap this month at the CREATE Art Center in Newport.
On Friday, Oct. 20, the center presents Bridges Home featuring the multi-instrumentalist duo of Tami and Dave Gunter, and welcoming special guest Joanne Heinz on mountain dulcimer.
The concert will begin at 6 p.m. Celtic, delta blues, Americana, bluegrass, and original music will be featured in a toe-tapping concert.
Tickets are available at the center and online at createarts.org. The cost is $12 in advance, $15 the day of the concert, and $5 for students.

The answer can be found in "The Seeds of Vandana Shiva", a documentary film which tells the life story of Dr. Vandana Shiva. Based in Delhi, the Indian scholar, food sovereign advocate and environmental activist has stood up to the corporate Goliaths of industrial agriculture, and rose to prominence in the ecological food movement.
The film will be shown Sunday, Oct. 22, at CREATE Art Center in Newport. The award-winning documentary will be shown from 2 to 4 p.m. at the center, 900 W. Fourth Ave.
The award-winning documentary produced by Becket Films, is being presented by the center and Responsible Growth Northwest.
Donations will be accepted at the door.
