How did the willful daughter of a Himalayan forest conservator become Monsanto’s worst nightmare?

The answer can be found in "The Seeds of Vandana Shiva", a documentary film which tells the life story of Dr. Vandana Shiva. Based in Delhi, the Indian scholar, food sovereign advocate and environmental activist has stood up to the corporate Goliaths of industrial agriculture, and rose to prominence in the ecological food movement.

The film will be shown Sunday, Oct. 22, at CREATE Art Center in Newport. The award-winning documentary will be shown from 2 to 4 p.m. at the center, 900 W. Fourth Ave.
