CASA plans popular Purse Party fundraiser
If you're looking for a new purse, North Idaho CASA has it in the bag.
On Wednesday, Nov. 15, from 4 to 7 p.m., the Pend d’Oreille Winery Tasting Room will host North Idaho CASA’s annual Purse Party, an event that area residents have been supporting for close to two decades. Hundreds of handbags will be available for purchase, and some will be up for silent auction bid. Appetizers and wine will be available to guests who mingle and shop during the three-hour event, generously sponsored by Finan McDonald and Rhonda Tate again this year.
CASA supports trained advocates for over 300 child abuse and neglect victims in North Idaho. Advocates investigate child protection cases, represent the child’s best interests in court, help with the reunification process, or safely transition children into a new home with a forever family. For older kids, a CASA advocate might be the only stable adult in their life.
Currently, in Bonner County, the CASA program has 18 advocates serving 52 children. Through donations and fundraisers, like the Purse Party, CASA can raise the funds to recruit, train, and support enough advocates to ensure that every child victim has a voice in court.
CASA also works to provide resources and outreach programs to foster youth outside of the courtroom. Every dollar donated helps improve the life of a child suffering from trauma. We strive to give every child the chance to become a success, not a statistic.
Local partners for our 2023 Purse Drop locations are: FInan McDonald, Style Bar, Eve’s Leaves, Xhale Pilates Studio, and Nieman’s Floral.
