SANDPOINT — Seven new items, an update on the city’s downtown waterfront design competition, and revisiting a tabled contract renewal with Lake City Law will all be on the agenda for Wednesday’s council meeting.

New business will include presentations on a Sand Creek connections project and street and sidewalk improvements. The Sand Creek presentation will cover a collaborative initiative between Kaniksu Land Trust, the city of Ponderay, the Kalispel Tribe, and the Kinnikinnick Native Plant Society to “generate a strategic vision for the Sand Creek corridor by working through an inclusive community planning process,” the agenda report said.

The council will also consider taking the next step for establishing a housing authority and bylaws to go with it. Councilors will also be discussing a Travers Park bike skills course agreement with Pend Oreille Pedalers and a grant award for design and construction of a new playground and splash pad at Travers Park.

The meeting will feature a public hearing regarding a request for four-lot subdivision in the vicinity of Ontario Street and U.S. 2. A public hearing was held at the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting on Sept. 5 for the plat, called Westpointe Place, and it was recommended for approval with five conditions by staff.

Wednesday’s meeting will be held at Sandpoint City Hall, 1123 Lake St., starting at 5:30 p.m. The public can attend in person or online at sandpointidaho.gov.
