Sravasti Abbey hosting talk series
Sravasti Abbey's conversation series, "Courageous and Kind" continues through the end of the month at CREATE Art Center in Newport, Wash.
The talks are held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Mondays.
"These are scary times," Sravasti Abbey officials said in a press release. "But there are things we can do with our thoughts to grow confidence, courage, inner calm, and the ability to relate to others with kindness and compassion — qualities that are good both for ourselves and for the people around us."
In these talks, Abbey monastics will share some of the wisdom and strategies that have made their lives better and hopefully will do the same for anyone — whether they are Buddhist or not.
Each session will include a short, guided meditation to relax, followed by a talk, discussion, and questions and answers. No meditation background is needed.
