Certified staff were given an 8% raise plus a 9% increase in their benefit package. Yet, they continue to complain that they didn’t get “all” of the 15% raise that the state allowed. Presently, we have an 11.7 student/teacher ratio. The national average is 15.1 and the state average is 18.1 The teacher’s union wants both a huge 15% raise and an 11.7 student/teacher ratio. And it is the community’s perception that it’s the new superintendent who is messing everything up.

The candidate didn’t seem to realize why informed taxpayers would be reluctant.
