Citizens must demand voice in city government
Please see what is happening in your city offices.
We citizens have zero voice. We have been completely shut out of any opportunity to participate in the governance of our town. We have been saddled with an expensive administrator whose apparent goal is to create a flashy resume. Where does a mayor's job end and an administrator's start in a town the size of Sandpoint?
From Travers Park to the "blue necklace" to the condition of the city neighborhood roads to the height limits to the proposed destruction of City Beach, you/we have no more say.
Is there a candidate or even one city council member who cares what the people who actually live here and voted for them think or want?
Not from where I'm watching.
Could citizens expressing anger toward council managers be a reaction to being completely ignored?
Write or e-mail your city council members. Ask for citizen participation committees to be re-instituted.
I'm sick of being lied to and told that we don't have vision for Sandpoint by my elected officials, treated like a hick child whose elders know best.
I am writing this:
"Please create a citizen ad hoc committee to vet Sandpoint residents about their thoughts on the 'blue necklace' and Travers Park," and sending it to:

It's time for a voice.
