Initiative letter fell short of goal

A short while ago, I wrote a letter to the editor regarding the open primaries initiative, and I didn't notice that Bill Litsinger had responded in the Daily Bee until I was just leaving town on a trip. Bill pointed out, correctly, that I was mistaken on the facts, specifically the connection between the initiative and ranked choice. I support the initiative as a way to include more people, maybe even bring folks closer together in trying to find the best candidates for the ballot, yet looking back, my words were divisive, and for this, I'm sorry.

We're all in this together, and I can certainly do better. Thanks for the reminder, Bill.
