PREP SWIM: Sandpoint girls win regional title, boys second

MOSCOW — Sandpoint’s Ryleigh Bamer picked up a pair of individual victories in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly to help the Bulldogs win the 4A Region 1 title at the University of Idaho Pool on Saturday.

Sara Hogue (100 backstroke) and Reina Montecchi (100 freestyle) also picked up individual victories for Sandpoint. The Bulldogs won the 200-yard medly relay and the 400 freestyle relay as well en route to a 45-point victory over Moscow.

For the boys, Sandpoint finished second behind Lakeland, who dominated the meet. Lon LeBlanc picked up an individual win in the 100 freestyle and Sandpoint won the 200-yard medley relay.
