Mt. Spokane won the girls race, just edging out Coeur d’Alene by 11 points. Sandpoint’s junior varsity girls team, led by freshman Sienna Todd-Murray took first in the JV race.

“It was good competition for our guys and girls teams,” head coach Mike Ehredt said. “There were lots of good teams from Washington, Boise, bigger 5A schools, etc. You have teams like Coeur d’Alene (boys) who are ranked fourth in the nation. I am all about running where the competition is, and this meet had a lot of it.”

The Sandpoint cross country team will head to the University of Montana for the Mountain West Classic, the largest meet in the state of Montana, Saturday, Sept. 23.
