Loutzenhiser was named to the position this summer.
"Peggy's unwavering commitment to educational excellence and exceptional leadership skills make her the perfect fit to spearhead curriculum, instruction, and assessment initiatives across the district," WBCSD Superintendent Branden Durst said in a social media post announcing the selection.
Durst said her unwavering commitment to educational excellence and leadership skills made her the perfect fit to spearhead the district's curriculum, instruction, and assessment initiatives.
Loutzenhiser has previously worked in the district as an instructional coach and as a district assessment coordinator. She holds a master's degree in curriculum and instruction and a bachelor's degree in elementary education, both from Eastern Washington University, and an associate of arts degree from Community Colleges of Spokane in 2000.
As curriculum direction, Durst said, Loutzenhiser will "play a pivotal role" in shaping the future of education in West Bonner.
Durst said the new curriculum director's journey is an "inspiring example of the heights that can be achieved through dedication, perseverance, and a genuine passion for education and the well-being of students. We eagerly anticipate the positive impact she will make in her new role."
In her role, Loutzenhiser will oversee curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.
"Peggy's vision aligns perfectly with the district's commitment to improving student achievement and providing students with an exceptional education," Durst said. "Her strategic insights and collaborative leadership will drive us toward creating an enriched and innovative learning environment that empowers students to succeed academically and beyond."
