Donald Reynolds, 88

Donald Thorton Reynolds, 88, passed away Thursday, Sept. 7, 2023, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2023, at the Lakeview Funeral Home, with graveside services to follow at Pinecrest Cemetery. A reception will be held at Parkside Church (Sandpoint Assembly of God), 423 N. Lincoln Ave., in Sandpoint.

Don was born April 25, 1935, in Sandpoint, the youngest child of 16 children born to Steven Ray and Edna Janae Reynolds. He grew up in Sandpoint and resided for many years in Kootenai, Idaho. There, he lived on the hill above his birthplace and raised four of his five children, three of whom were the only triplets born in Sandpoint.

Don was a millwright at Brand S in Laclede and worked at various saw mills for many years. He was best known for his handyman business and his iconic hardhat, which he wore every day, except to church and on special occasions. Don loved hunting, fishing, playing his guitar and singing.

Don is survived by four children, Kathy L. (Kelly) Lorencz, Brian D. (Dawna) Reynolds, Kevin D. (Debbie) Reynolds, and Karen D. (Scott) Bradford; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and his brother, George (Frances) Reynolds.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, 14 siblings, and one son, Douglas L. Reynolds.
