Community's support has touched our hearts

My name is Melanie Nitz, and on August 30 at 1 a.m., we lost our home to a fire in the Garfield Bay area. My daughter, Baylie, and my grandson, Oakley, were home at the time. Thank God, they and the dogs got out unharmed.

Since the fire, there has been so much love sent our way, and I would like to thank everyone who reached out and took their time to show their support in this most devastating time.

Some of those that I would like to thank are number one, my mom, for the house; the many firefighters who were there and doing their best; Kraig Clark and Baylie Nitz, who had a hose going until the pump failed; Victor Jacobson, who is providing a place for my horses; and Lee and Dave Randall for getting all my neighbors together for a beautiful pizza party in honor of supporting our loss.
