Initiative will bring Idaho freedom of choice

| September 26, 2023 1:00 AM

Wow, the moles just keep coming. Anyway, as to the letter in the Sept. 14 edition by the motivational speaker, he accidentally substituted some wrong words in his letter, so I will take the liberty here to write how it really should have read.

Right-wing extremists in Washington have refused to take up the topic of reforming immigration laws to address the obvious problem of illegal immigration. Conservative extremists actively attack our institutions and constitutional customs. Calling elections illegitimate if they don't win. They were first in the U.S. Senate to eliminate the filibuster. They won the presidency twice in five elections with a minority of the vote due to the antiquated Electoral College.

Conservative extremists have enacted laws around the country, making it more difficult for students, the elderly, and the poor to vote. All the while dictating their moral standards on reproductive rights and banning certain books, among other things, all the while claiming to champion personnel freedoms.

They just had to close "their" primary elections and disenfranchise those people who don't identify with their purity of thought, and calling for the resignation of those who don't agree. They must make sure that their hand-picked candidate in the primary will win in the general election. If they didn't close the primaries, gee, that huge throng of Democrats flooding into Idaho would just pounce and take the state over. Just look what happened in that leftist bastion in Alaska, allowing ranked voting and all.

Yeah, we have to protect the extreme right-wing and the Idaho Freedom Foundation's dictates, or Idaho just might descend into real freedom of choice.
