PREP VOLLEYBALL: Clark Fork captures conference win over Mullan
- Tuesday, Sept. 26
Clark Fork 3, Mullan 1
MULLAN — Clark Fork downed Mullan 3-1 (25-15, 25-20, 21-25, 25-17) in 1A North Star conference play at the Mullan Pavilion on Tuesday.
“The Mullan Pavilion is never an easy place to play and we appeared shaken at times, especially in the third set,” head coach Lyndsie Kiebert-Carey said. “The Tigers did a great job finding holes in our defense and capitalized on their home court advantage. It took mental toughness for us to escape with the win.”
On defense, Amari Printz-Hay had three blocks and 14 digs while Lilly Reuter added a team-high 22 digs for the Wampus Cats.
“Lilly worked really hard in this match and did a great job mixing up our offense. Our hitters were uncharacteristically hesitant. Lilly did a good job of spreading her assists and showing confidence in her teammates,” Kiebert-Carey said.
On offense, Eloise Shelton had an impressive five aces and 13 kills to lead Clark Fork.
“Eloise had the challenging job of being the vocal leader in a tough environment, but she never wavered in positivity, which helped us get to the finish line in the fourth set,” Kiebert-Carey said.
Clark Fork (6-5, 2-0) has a tall task ahead of them as the team will face an undefeated Wallace squad at home today.
