Weight limits pulled from some roads

SANDPOINT — Weight restrictions have been removed from the county's list of those with road weight limits.

District 1 (south of the Long Bridge) — All roads are lifted from weight restrictsions with the exception of the following: Bottle Bay Road (from Lignite to Sagle Road), Martin Bay Road, Glengary Bay Road, Churchill Road, Algoma Spur Road, Talache Road (south of E. Dufort Road), South Sagle Road (south of E. Dufort Road), Willford Road, Hillside Drive, Eureka Road, Sunset Road, Road 22, Al's elding Road, Mountain View Road, Roberts Lane, Garrett Road, Curtis Creek Road, Hoo Doo Mountain Road, Whittum Road, Jewel Lake Road, Schneiders Road, Otts Basin Road, Merril Martin Road (north and south end), Gypsy Bay Road, Swan Shores Drive, Wooded Acres Drive, Westwood Heights Road, East Skyline Drive, W. Skyline Drive, Lakeview Drive, Blacktail Road, Little Blacktail Road, Crosswhite Road, Butler Creek Spur, and Trails End Rd.

Comeback Bay Lane, E. Comeback Bay Lane, Birch Haven Drive, Birch Banks Road, Hanford Drive, Sweeney Drive, Hanley Lane, Bella Circle, and Eichs Road will remain as no hauling. This means the road is only open to regular, residential traffic; trailers and loaded truck beds are not allowed.

District 2 (Priest River/Priest Lake)  — The following roads are lifted from weight restrictions: All roads south of the Pend Oreille River, Bodie Canyon Road, Shannon Lane, Dickensheet Road (to the Cavanaugh Bay Road intersection), Barrett Road, Stone Johnny Road, Peninsula Road,  Eastriver Road, Eastside Road (that includes East Settlement Road, Cork Road, Anselmo Lane, Wells Lane, Thama Drive, and Peterson Road), Carr Creek Road, Wrenco Hills Road, Wrenco Loop, Santa Maria Road, Smith Creek Road, N. Riley Creek Road, Riley Creek Park Drive, Campbell Point Road, Moore Loop, and Freeman Lake Road.

Blue Lake Road and Fox Creek Road will remain closed. All other roads are still posted with weight limits.

Eastshore Road (north of Cavanaugh Bay Road) is posted as no hauling.

District 3 (Sandpoint/Clark Fork) — All roads will be lifted on the morning of Tuesday, April 2, with the exception of the following: Baldy Mountain Road (from the Janish Drive intersection to the county turnaround), N. Boyer Road (from the W. Bronx Road intersection to the north set of railroad tracks), W. Selle Road, Forest Siding Road, Upper Pack River Road, W. Elmira Road, Upper Gold Creek Road, Rapid Lightning Road (from the Upper Gold Creek Road intersection to the end of the county-maintained portion), Trestle Creek Road, W. Spring Creek River Road, River Road (from the Dry Creek Road intersection to the Montana border), Dry Creek Road, Cabinet Gorge Road, and Painter Road.

Per county ordinance, it is the responsibility of the hauler to contact the Bonner County Road & Bridge Department to determine whether or not these restrictions are in place. The restrictions will remain in effect until changed, at which time updates will be posted.

As a reminder, a red flag (or no flag) on a sign indicates weight limits are in effect for that roadway.
