An earful of nonsense and false election claims

| April 4, 2024 1:00 AM

This coming April 20 a GOP fundraiser will be coming to Bonner County, starring “professor” David Clements and his wife, both of whom are involved in an ongoing effort to prove the 2020 election was fraudulent.

The event will include a $125 per plate dinner with Clements as featured speaker.

Clements  engages in election denialism, as well as formulating methods to encourage this behavior in future elections.

There have been numerous Trump associates arrested, disbarred, arraigned, or jailed relating to previous attempts to reverse or discredit the election of Joe Biden. No evidence has ever been presented to support any allegation of election fraud.

The efforts to undermine the 2020 election include a number of tactics, yet the most pernicious and successful one is the endless repetition of that lie, despite the fact that Fox News and its founder Rupert Murdoch, presenters on Fox, and various lawyers and associates of Trump have all said that such claims are in fact lies.

Sources that Trump voters need to confirm their baseless beliefs are getting harder to come by, so now they are willing to pay someone $125 to lie to them. This is a new frontier in desperation, mirroring the insane chaos inside the GOP as of late.

Among the attendees will be plenty who are blaming Biden for a $4 carton of eggs, or $3.60 a gallon of gasoline, neither of which is controlled by the president. But to them, $125 for an earful of nonsense and lies for them constitutes real value.
