LPOSD meeting to cover policy revisions
PONDERAY — The Lake Pend Oreille School District board of trustees will be meeting Tuesday to discuss revisions to student conduct policy and sexual harassment policy among other items.
These two policies will see minor changes including an address change, and a short phrase that clarifies that student conduct code will be distributed through student handbooks.
Another policy revision being introduced includes added language on advancement opportunities, and details about career technical education programs, advanced placement classes, and other college-credit bearing or professional certificate examinations within LPOSD schools.
Policies seeing their second reading will include a revision adding the district’s name to a school restrooms and changing facilities policy, and a new cybersecurity and data breach response policy.
The cybersecurity and data breach response policy aims to prevent data breaches and ensure that any breaches are addressed quickly and appropriately, the policy states.
The board will also go into executive session as provided for in Idaho Code to consider the evaluation, dismissal or disciplining of, or to hear complaints or charges brought against, a public officer, employee, staff member or individual agent, or public school student, LPOSD officials said in the meeting agenda.
Executive sessions are closed to the public to give officials a chance to discuss confidential information; however, all decisions must be made in open session.
The board will also observe presentations from Sagle Elementary School students, Superintendent Dr. Becky Meyer, and chief financial officer Brian Wallace.
The meeting will take place today at 5 p.m. at the LPOSD District Office, 901 Triangle Drive, Ponderay.
