| April 7, 2024 1:00 AM

County elections offices throughout Idaho are mailing absentee ballots for the May 21 primary elections.

More than 14,000 ballots went out statewide in the initial mailing, according to the Idaho Secretary of State’s Office. Voters who requested an absentee ballot can expect to receive it in the mail within the next week.

Voters may request an absentee ballot online by visiting VoteIdaho.gov. The deadline to submit absentee ballot requests for the May primary election is 5 p.m. May 10.

“Whether you plan to vote absentee, vote early, or vote on Election Day, have a plan to vote in the Idaho May primary,” Idaho Secretary of State Phil McGrane said in a news release. “The Idaho primary includes races for Congress, state legislator and local races that impact your community. Every vote counts, so ensure your voice is heard by participating in this important election.”

An absentee tracker data visualization is available to view the Idaho Secretary of State’s Office website with statistics on absentees sent and received throughout the primary election cycle.
