April 7, 1974 – COMAN HAS LOW BID

Jim Breinich, BGH administrator, announced that Coman Construction Company of Spokane has won the right to dismantle the old hospital building, with the low bid of $7,810. Most of the demolition work that has taken place at the old hospital so far has been done by private individuals who have bought such items as windows and doors from Coman. Coman is responsible to remove the entire building, and is not allowed to burn it down. Breinich stated that the project should be completed by June 1.

PATRICIA MORAN IS BRIDE

A winter wedding in the United Methodist Church saw the marriage of Patricia J. Moran, Sandpoint, and David W. Forrester, Boise. The bride’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Moran of Sandpoint; the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R.W. Forrester, Emmett, Idaho. A reception was held in the church social hall. Assisting were Mrs. Brent Herberg, Mrs. Mary Moran, Mrs. R.L. Denison, Mrs. Scott Hadley, Leslie Tatterson, Susie Denison and Becky Petersen. The newlyweds are residing in Boise.

MISS COGSWELL PLANS RECITAL

Christi Cogswell, Sandpoint music major, will give her senior flute recital April 9 in the U of I Music Building Recital Hall. One selection, “Choros No. 2” for flute and clarinet, will feature at clarinet, Patty Krum Hadley, Moscow, a senior elementary education major. Miss Cogswell is the daughter of Judge and Mrs. Dar Cogswell. Mrs. Hadley is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Krum, Sandpoint.

April 7, 1949 – HAS BIRTHDAY PARTY

Jane Racicot, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Racicot, celebrated her 11th birthday Sunday with a group of school friends. After an afternoon hike, they had games and refreshments at her home. Guests were Elbert Pennington, Joan Pennington, Cleo Hawley, Barbara Breinich and Barbara Lindsey.

LOCAL GIRL MAKES I.S.C. BOWLING TEAM

Miss Ilene Shaffer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jess Shaffer, attending ISC at Pocatello, was recently selected outstanding sophomore in athletics and was initiated into Spurs, national honorary society. Miss Shaffer, majoring in business administration, has been active in sports for several years, playing softball, tennis and bowling. This season, on the women’s bowling team, she has averaged 170 points and has scored as high as 200.

MARINA TO HAVE PLANE SERVICE ON LAKE

Bob Morris is expected to arrive Wednesday with a Seabee amphibian plane to be operated on Lake Pend Oreille this summer by Kenmor Marina, owned by Morris and Fred Kennedy. The plane will be used for charter and scenic flights. Besides charter fishing cruisers, a drive-yourself cruiser service, and the seaplane, the Marina will operate an excursion boat from Sandpoint during the 1949 season.
