A pedestrian was seriously injured when he was struck by a pickup truck while attempting to cross Fifth Avenue via the crosswalk.
Idaho State Police are investigating the vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash, which was reported at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. The collision took place near the intersection of Fifth and Oak, ISP officials said.
ISP troopers said a female driver in a white pickup truck was westbound on Fifth Avenue when she failed to yield to a male pedestrian in the crosswalk. The male, whose age was not given, was crossing east to west when he was struck by the vehicle.
The pedestrian was then transported to a local hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries.
Speed was a factor in the collision.
