PREP BASEBALL: Timberwolves throw two shutouts in sweep of Sandpoint

SANDPOINT — The Bulldogs were only able to produce five total hits as Lake City threw for two shutout wins 4-0 and 10-0 at War Memorial Field on Tuesday.

In Game 1, Mason Little and Finn Mellander notched singles, Sage Medeiros a triple for Sandpoint. On the mound, Jorden Tyler was efficient, throwing five innings and giving up six hits, two walks, and two earned runs while striking out three. Sandpoint’s Lucas Hansen threw two solid innings in relief, striking out two while allowing just one hit and one walk.

The Bulldogs continued to struggle at the plate in Game 2, getting just two hits. Tyler hit a double, Jesse Turner a single for the Sandpoint. After giving up six runs in the first inning, Sandpoint eventually settled down. In relief, Dallen Williams threw 1 ⅔  no-hit innings and struck out one in the process. Sage Medeiros also threw a clean final frame, giving up just one hit and one unearned run while striking out one batter.

Sandpoint (3-6) will host a doubleheader against Timberlake on Thursday.
