WSU Master Gardeners offering composting class

| April 10, 2024 1:00 AM

Curious about why "compost" is a gardening buzzword?

A WSU Extension Office class being held Thursday, April 11, is a chance to learn about how compost is the gardener's best friend. The class will be held at 1 p.m. A Master Gardener panel will cover all aspects of buying or making your own garden compost from ordinary organic materials, including which materials are not suitable and why. Cold versus hot composting methods are thoroughly explained and contrasted, plus the advantages of right-sizing piles versus using manufactured composting bins. The class then moves out into the Master Gardener Demonstration Garden where you can see these methods in action.

The Extension Office is located at 227 South Garden Ave. To register for the class, contact Beverly Sarles at 509-447-2401 or via email at: beverly.sarles@wsu.edu.

The class fee is $5, ($3 for MGs), and can be paid by check, money order, cash or through PayPal.
