SANDPOINT — Enjoy a stack of pancakes while supporting Forrest Bird Charter School’s upcoming Yellowstone trip through an April 20 fundraiser.

Community, camaraderie and delicious pancakes are just a few of the things organizers say will be offered.

Laura Clemmons, a parent of a FBCS student, is organizing the event.

“My daughter is an eighth grader at FBCS,” she said. “I wanted to help support the eight graders to get to go on their trip. They still need a lot of money to get to go.”

Clemmons will be preparing the food along with help from students.

“I was a chef at a catering facility for years so cooking and bringing the community together for a common purpose and a good breakfast seemed like a great way to raise money and  get to know each other better,” she said. “The students are welcome to help and so many have signed up already.”

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Gardenia Center, 400 Church St. A silent auction and treat sale will also offer opportunities to contribute.

Proceeds will benefit an end-of-year field trip to Yellowstone National Park for FBCS eighth grade students.

FBCS is a free, public charter school that provides students with a project-based education with a mastery focus to meet their educational goals, FBCS officials said.

General tickets are $10 per person while family tickets for four people are $20.
