SANDPOINT — Once again, freshman Pepper Rickert and senior Neva Reseska did not lose a single game, leading the Bulldogs to a commanding 11-1 victory over the Trojans at Travers Park on Thursday.

“They’re just unbeatable,” head coach Kent Anderson said about Reseska and Rickert.

Anderson also noted that Rickert only lost one single point between both sets. Rounding out girls singles, Sandpoint’s Bella Bailey also dominated her opponent for her sixth straight win.

In girls doubles, Sydney Webb and Aubrey Knowles along with Lily Evans and Mya Vorhies both notched wins.

In boys singles, Jacob Dawson impressed, only losing one game between both sets. In the No. 2 spot, Matthew Norton fought off Post Falls’ Cadence Warren, who played No.1 for the Trojans in the teams’ first meeting of the season, after a three-set tiebreaker. Norton trailed 5-2 in the first set, but came back to get a crucial 7-5 set win, and that win proved to be the difference maker.

In boys doubles, Nathan Duke and Ethan Ballard were sharp as usual, defeating a pair of tough opponents. Anderson said the match had great net exchanges. Brennan Johnson and Fisher Dail did much of the same, winning a three-set tiebreaker that came down to the wire.

In mixed doubles, Berkeley Cox and Noah Spinney won in straight sets after losing their match against Lakeland on Wednesday.

“Against Lakeland they kind of self-destructed, but today they were moving around and had a different mental attitude,” Anderson said. “They played great and it was fun to see them come back to form.”

In the No. 2 spot, Elly Tutin and Caden Martz, in Martz’s first ever mixed doubles outing, dominated their opponents. Anderson said the team has been mixing up the No. 2 spot in order to find the right combination and believes Tutin and Martz may be the pair that sticks.

Sandpoint (3-1) travels to Lake City on Tuesday.
