PRIEST RIVER — Temperatures are rising and before we know it, North Idaho will be in the midst of fire season — more commonly known as summer.

To help landowners reduce the risk of fire on their properties this summer, 7B Cares, in partnership with Priest River Community Church, is hosting a wildfire mitigation class April 27.

“This class covers steps you can take to minimize risk and reduce damages to your property from wildfires,” 7B Cares staff said.

The class will be led by Bill Steele, who has over 30 years of experience in firefighting and is a former deputy fire marshal for Idaho.

This 9-11 a.m. class is free and all are welcome to attend. It will be held at Priest River Community Church, located at 377 High Street.

Seating is limited and interested parties are encouraged to RSVP as soon as possible. Contact Lori from 7B Cares at lorih.7bcares@hotmail.com or text her at 509-998-1269 to reserve a seat.
