55TH ANNIVERSARY

Mr. and Mrs. Forrest S. (Skeet) Ballou of Dover celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary with a dinner in the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Buck Clark. Family members present were Mr. and Mrs. Bill Brockus and Valerie, of Wrencoe; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Naccarato and daughter, Mrs. Shelley Brooks, Priest River; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Becker, Dover; Mr. and Mrs. Chris Clark and Tara, Moscow; Curt Clark, Coeur d’Alene; Mr. and Mrs. Randy Becker, Laclede; Randy Allen and Leigh Ann Lubbers, Sandpoint. A daughter, Vivian (Toots) Balison of Hot Springs, Mont. who was unable to attend the dinner, visited the next week and presented them with a beautifully decorated cake. A group of relatives gathered that evening in the Ballou home to visit with Mrs. Balison.

LAMOREAUX PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITED

The “Yellow Brick Road,” a collection of photos taken, developed and printed by University of Idaho photography seminar students, is on display at the U of I Student Union Building. Mark LaMoreaux, Sandpoint, senior art design major, is one of the students whose work is being shown.

April16, 1949 – TRESTLE CREEK NEWS

James Crockett and his son, Edwin, were visitors at the Pend d’Oreille Lake resort Friday.

The lake has risen eight inches in the past week. We do not expect extreme high water this year.

Ed Welo was up recently to see about floating his cruiser, which has been beached all winter.

Mrs. Harry Dreisbach and her daughter, Louise, Mrs. Jack Grohand and Mrs. Al Moore attended a shower given for Mrs. Phil McNearney.

BONNER COUNTY TO JOIN HEALTH UNIT

Plans to expand the Kootenai county health unit to provide Bonner county residents with complete local health services have been announced. Only minor details of combining the two counties into a local public health department remain to be worked out with the county commissioners, city officials and the state public health department. Both counties will contribute operational funds. The lab in Coeur d’Alene will serve both counties.

EAGLES ELECT OFFICERS

The following elected members of the Fraternal Order of Eagles will be installed June 2: President, R.D. Nelson; vice president, Lewis Levering; Denis Fury, chaplain; Del Balch, conductor; Frank McCoy, inside guard; Orval Gastineau, treasurer; Lee Allen, trustee for 3-year term; Dr. W.F. Tyler, physician.
