Where are the community's tree huggers?

When in the Sandpoint post office claiming my mail I often observe people dumping loads of unsolicited mail in the trash can.

My contribution to the trash can is more often 50-60% of the mail in my post office box. The same goes for the mail at my residence address. What a terrible waste of trees getting junk mail from auto dealers, insurance companies, dentists, real estate agents and others trying to sell you something. How about someone speaking up for the trees that are being destroyed?
