ISHS seeks input on plan
The Idaho State Historical Society is seeking public input to help update the Idaho Historic Preservation Plan. The plan was last updated eight years ago, and since that time the population of Idaho has grown by over 250,000 people, Janet Gallimore, executive director, said in a press release.
The plan outlines the state's historic preservation priorities and goals. With a diverse community of individuals, organizations, governmental agencies and area Tribes making up Idaho’s historic preservation community, it is necessary to have a common framework for efforts, Gallimore said. The plan helps ensure "all of these dedicated and passionate preservationists are better able to carry out the work necessary to try and bring the plan’s vision to reality," she said. "The plan identifies priorities for historic preservation activities throughout Idaho."
The Idaho SHPO is holding public open houses to seek input on the update to the state's historic preservation plan. In North Idaho, an open house will be held in Coeur d'Alene on Tuesday, April 30, in the Gozzer Room of the Coeur d’Alene Public Library, 702 E. Front Ave. The open house will be held from 5-6:30 p.m.
The public is also invited to participate in the plan by taking the survey online at bit.ly/3UoNTz2.
