SANDPOINT — Bella Bailey, Matthew Norton, and girls doubles duo Lily Evans and Mya Vorhies didn’t lose a single game as the Bulldogs won all 12 of their matches against Lakeland on Tuesday.

Returning to girls singles action, senior Neva Reseska picked up a big win in the No. 2 spot.

“Neva played strong today, combining solid ground strokes with an attacking net game,” head coach Kent Anderson said. “She moves with such fluidity from side to side.”

Also in girls singles, Bailey used a powerful serve to dismantle her opponent, picking up her eighth win of the season with an impressive 6-0, 6-0 performance.

In girls doubles, Sydney Webb and Aubrey Knowles dominated once again at the No. 1 spot, using a combination of power and precision to control points. In the No. 2 spot, Evans and Vorhies recorded the second ‘double bagel’ of the afternoon.

“Neither of them likes to miss and they both can hit with power and finesse,” Anderson said of Evans and Vorhies.

In boys singles, Jacob Dawson played his normal attacking style to handily defeat Lakeland’s Ben Ryan.

“To beat a player of Ben’s ability so soundly, bodes well for Jacob as we approach districts in three weeks,” Anderson said.

In the No. 2 singles spot, Norton notched the third 6-0, 6-0 win of the day. Anderson said his kick serve was creating havoc for his opponent. In the No. 3 spot, Mason Blaser found himself in a battle but kept his cool and prevailed in a second set tiebreaker.

In mixed doubles, Noah Spinney and Berkeley Cox avenged a three-set loss from three weeks, coming through with a convincing 6-4, 6-2 win. In the No. 2 spot, Elly Tutin and Caden Martz continued their winning ways with a strong 6-2, 6-2 win.

“Caden was a monster at the net and Elly was strong from the baseline,” Anderson said.

In boys doubles, Ethan Ballard and Nathan Duke along with Brennan Johnson and Fisher Dail, both notched two-set wins.

Sandpoint will be back in action April 26-27 at the Inland Empire Tournament in Spokane.
