Spirit Lake Historical Society officials want the community to know the Idaho State Historical Society needs input to help update the Idaho Historic Preservation Plan. The plan was last updated eight years ago.

The plan outlines the state's historic preservation priorities and goals. With a diverse community of individuals, organizations, governmental agencies and area Tribes making up Idaho’s historic preservation community, it is necessary to have a common framework for efforts, state officials said.

The Idaho SHPO is holding public open houses to seek input on the update to the state's historic preservation plan. In North Idaho, an open house will be held in Coeur d'Alene on Tuesday, April 30, in the Gozzer Room of the Coeur d’Alene Public Library, 702 E. Front Ave. The open house will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

The public is also invited to participate in the plan by taking the survey online at bit.ly/3UoNTz2.
