Bike rodeos offer 'wheel' fun, safety tips
Local youngsters test out their skills at a past bike rodeo. Local youth are invited to take part in a pair of bike rodeos this week — the first in Sandpoint on Friday, May 3, and the second in Ponderay on Sunday, May 5.

Two annual bike rodeos are scheduled in the cities of Sandpoint and Ponderay next week.
The events will feature a bike safety check with minor repairs, and a chance to learn about bike safety and practice skills, Erin Billings, Lake Pend Oreille School District Safe Routes to School coordinator, said.
The first rodeo will be held May 3 at Parkside Church, 423 N. Lincoln Ave. The event is free and will take place from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Pre-registering is not required. The city of Sandpoint, LPOSD Safe Routes to School, and Pend Oreille Pedalers are sponsoring this event.
