Mark Sauter is the right person for the job

I read with interest a recent article in the Bee. A candidate was declaring their intent to run for election. I believe it warrants a response.

As a result of a no-confidence vote taken last Spring, Rep. Sauter responded to the claims of the Central Committee through two articles the Bee carried.

The point of the recent article against Sauter has already been answered. He addressed his concern for the Bill last Spring. Pointing out the importance of reading the entire Bill was the beginning of his explanation, followed by concern of an overreach of regulations on business.

After reading SB1130 on the state website, I wondered how taking away freedom from one party and giving it to another is really freedom. Doesn’t seem a proper way of doing business in a free market or valuing a person’s right for self-protection. Individual rights matter on both ends of a business transaction. Looked like more than a dozen other Republicans voted with Sauter on SB1130. I didn’t find elements of this Bill to be conservative or Republican.

I guess it’s the season for accusations. Twists and half-truths plagued our election two years ago. We should expect more from those seeking office.

Do your research, know who you are voting for and what they stand for. I will be voting to re-elect Mark Sauter.
