White Pines Lacrosse League to play inaugural season this fall
SANDPOINT — The White Pines Lacrosse League, a new Sandpoint-based travel lacrosse program, will be hosting tryouts for their competitive high school boys and girls teams this August.
The league was recently established to provide additional opportunities to high school players beyond the traditional spring league and club lacrosse seasons. Not only will the league play competitively in the fall, but it will also be active in the summer and winter with personalized training, organized practices and showcase tournaments. Teams will be no more than 18 players to ensure athlete playing time is maximized.
The White Pines Lacrosse League invites all new, beginning and experienced players who want to sharpen their lacrosse skills. Registration is now open for the high school boys team at https://shorturl.at/ZnTYV. There will be two separate, free, tryout dates Aug. 15 and 29 in Sandpoint. For the upcoming season, practice will be Wednesdays and Sundays and will last from Sept. 18 to Nov. 4. The cost is $550 per player and covers position-specific coaching to help develop athletes, a fully sublimated game pinnie with matching shorts, a shooter shirt with the player’s last name, and one informal tournament and two professionally hosted tournaments with a guaranteed four games each.
The White Pines Lacrosse League has the following tournaments on their 2024 fall schedule: The Brown Bear Lacrosse Tourney in Missoula, Mont., the Inland Northwest Cup in Spokane, Wash., and the NW Fall Lacrosse Festival Tournament in Yakima, Wash.
The high school boys head coach will be former Sandpoint High lacrosse star, now Sandpoint High varsity assistant coach, Christian Crossingham. Crossingham excelled as a “face-off-get-off” player at Capital University (NCAA Division III) in Columbus, Ohio.
Program information for the high school girls program is forthcoming.
