| August 7, 2024 1:00 AM

Yvonne Lucille Taylor, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away July 9, 2024, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, at the age of 66. Born on Oct. 12, 1957, in San Jose, Calif., to Donel Goodrow and Heidi Roop, Yvonne lived a life full of love, adventure, and healing.

Yvonne spent her formative years in the vibrant Santa Cruz, Calif., area before moving to North Idaho in 1968. A spirited and adventurous soul, she later returned to California, landing in Clovis in 1984 with her two daughters, Mandy and Brandy Williams. But the call of the ocean led her back to Santa Cruz, where she settled in 1988.

A dedicated practitioner of Eastern medicine, Yvonne was passionate about traditional Chinese medicine, earning a doctorate in the field and serving her community as an acupuncturist. Her work was a testament to her deep belief in the healing power of alternative medicine, and she was dedicated to building her knowledge and skills.

Yvonne’s thoughtful demeanor was matched by her determined spirit; she was as "stubborn as a mule," tackling life's challenges with unwavering strength and resilience.

Yvonne is survived by her loving daughters, Mandy Williams and Brandy Williams; her brothers, Donel Roop, Jason Roop, and Val Custer; and her sisters, Cindy Hook, Tamara Wilson, and Lawana Damron. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ed Roop.

In celebration of Yvonne's life, a gathering will be held Sunday, Aug. 11, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Lake City Senior Center, 1916 N. Lakewood Drive, Coeur d'Alene, in the library. Family, friends, and all whose lives she touched are invited to join in remembering Yvonne.
