Clarence 'Corky' Campbell, 70

| August 10, 2024 1:00 AM

Clarence “Corky” Campbell passed away very peacefully, with family around him, Saturday morning, Aug. 3. He graduated from Canoga Park High School in California in 1972.

In 1973, he and his friend, Joel, traveled up to North Idaho and purchased land together in the Samuels area. Cork eventually bought out Joel’s half. Cork raised his three sons, Cole, Josh and Gerred, on the property. They lived up in the Samuels area for over 20 years.

He and his sons started up J.C. Auto Detailing, which is still in operation today, at 323 (unit 103) McGhee Road and 405 Olive Ave. in Sandpoint.

One of his enjoyments in life was fishing. Any free time he had, he would be out in his boat on Lake Pend Oreille, trying to catch the “big one.” He was a member of the Elks and enjoyed golfing with his friends on his team every Monday evening, starting in the spring. In his later years he really enjoyed his greenhouse, growing tomatoes, strawberries, and marigolds, which he gave away to his friends and the Senior Center, as well. He touched so many lives with his funny, and quick, wit. He will be truly missed.

He is survived by his oldest son, Cole, and his wife, Monique, and granddaughter Shelby, in Hayden, Idaho. His youngest son, Gerred, in Sandpoint, Idaho, plus his granddaughter, Shay Lynn, and husband Chan, and two great-grandsons, Odyn and Cash, in Rathdrum, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his middle son, Josh, who passed away in 1994.

Family and friends are invited to sign Corky’s online guest book at www.coffeltfuneral.com.

Arrangements are under the care of Coffelt Funeral Service.
