Ranked choice would end one person, one vote

| August 11, 2024 1:00 AM

For Idaho to vote ranked choice voting into law in November would be a travesty to say the least.

Those people who promote ranked choice voting believe we would have an open primary election. In truth, we would have a jungle primary. As it now stands, everyone can vote in the primary election — no restrictions.

Ranked choice voting makes it harder to vote, harder to count the votes, impossible to audit and much harder to ensure a transparent and accountable democratic process. The cost would be in the millions of dollars. There would no longer be one person, one vote.
