LPOSD to read two new policies in final summer meeting

SANDPOINT — Lake Pend Oreille School District trustees will gather today, Aug. 13, for their final scheduled meeting before classes begin.
The meeting will include the first reading of new policies for board operating protocol and processing complaints from patrons and students.
The proposed operating protocol includes language emphasizing the importance of facilitating public feedback before decisions are made and ensuring board meetings are as concise as possible.
A new procedure for patron and student complaints outlines a four-tiered system designed to resolve issues before they need attention from the superintendent or board.
Tuesday’s agenda also includes action items for the approval of snow removal and heating fuel contracts as well as the purchase of three new school buses at a total cost of $419,956.
The 5:30 p.m. meeting will be held at the Lake Pend Oreille School District Office, 365 N. Triangle Drive, Ponderay.
