MOSCOW — Idaho men's basketball coach Alex Pribble announced Friday that Luke Chavez and Mark Moore will join the Vandal coaching staff as graduate assistants for the 2024-25 season.

Chavez played under Pribble at Saint Martin's for two seasons in 2017-2019. Quickly Chavez turned into one of the top players in the GNAC, earning NABC First Team West Region, NCAA West Region All-Tournament Team and GNAC unanimous First Team All-Conference following his senior season in 2019. He helped lead the Saints to a school-record 26 wins, the program's first Great Northwest Athletic Conference regular-season championship and a berth to the Sweet 16 at the NCAA Division II tournament.

Following his collegiate career, Chavez competed professionally for two seasons in Panama from 2021-2023. In his final season for the Centinelas, he averaged 18.8 points per game, 7.5 rebounds, and 6.6 assists.

Moore comes to the Palouse after playing basketball for four seasons at NCAA Division III Webster University in St. Louis. He was a two-sport student-athlete at Webster, playing varsity soccer for three seasons.

Outside of collegiate competition, the Hillsboro, Mo., native served as a men's basketball operations intern for one summer at Southeast Missouri State University and spent the 2023-24 season as a varsity assistant coach at his former high school. He is also the founder and head trainer of Moore Buckets, a startup basketball training outlet for all age groups.
