City Beach statue under repair
City Beach's iconic Statue of Liberty replica is under repair.

SANDPOINT — The city has removed the miniature Statue of Liberty from the pier at City Beach.
Sandpoint reported Monday that the local monument sustained damage last weekend and has been temporarily removed for repair.
According to Community Planning and Development Director Jason Welker, one of the brackets attaching the statue to the pier broke off as a result of kids climbing on and jumping from the structure.
The city plans to hire an aluminum welder to repair the bracket; Sandpoint estimates the statue will return to City Beach in two to four weeks.
