Council approves 2025 budget, fee changes

SANDPOINT — City councilors were unanimous Wednesday in votes to approve a final 2025 budget and changes to Sandpoint’s slate of fees.
The council solidified the $50.49 million budget after a public hearing that featured a single speaker — Donna Griffin, executive director of local free bus service Selkirk Pend Oreille Transit.
Griffin, who presented before the council requesting financial support at an Aug. 7 meeting, provided more details about the request and encouraged collaboration between SPOT and the city.
Later, councilors approved a list of fee changes that included a 35.9% increase in a collection of development impact fees and the establishment of user costs for the James E. Russell Sports Center.
