LPO Retreat celebrated as new chamber member

SANDPOINT — LPO Retreat owners Terry and Steve Thorp were joined by the Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce in celebrating its chamber membership and their first hosting of a corporate retreat event. The event was held at the recently renovated LPO Retreat, 1655 Glengary Bay Road.
LPO Retreat is a collection of buildings that were the historical lakeside home of Drs. Forrest and Pam Bird. Terry and Steve were longtime neighbors of the couple. For many years, Dr. Forrest Bird invited doctors from around the world to stay and learn about his inventions at his lakeside home on Glengary Bay.
The Thorps purchased the Bird property about a year ago. Since then, they have been working to make updates to prepare this wonderful, unique, lakeside property into a world-class retreat. The property includes lodging rooms, event venues, and meeting spaces. The Thorps are taking reservations beginning in spring 2025 for events, family gatherings, weddings, and corporate retreats.
