BCRCC's use of ranked-choice voting is ironic
Luke Omodt resigning last week and the Bonner County Republican Central Committee putting up a slate of three candidates, led by that well-known "moderate" Ron Korn, shows to go how Republicans are against something — until they're in favor of it if it's to their advantage. In this case, ranked choice voting and Proposition 1.
It kind of reminds me of their women's auxiliary calling to task the county's Democrat women dressing as the protagonists in the novel and television show, "The Handmaid's Tale," in the July 4th parade. If you are unfamiliar with the novel, a near-future chunk of the U.S. succeeded from the Union and is ruled by a warped version of Christianity. The society is totally dominated by men who require women to have clothing cover their entire body like strict Islam does, seeing women as little more than broodmares.
My point being, like most Republicans, they called for unity and the common American spirit one day of the year, the 4th of July when it's to their public relations advantage, but the rest of the year; well you need to bow to our way of thinking and belief system. Conveniently forgetting that this country is all about self-expression and exercising our freedom of speech.
