SANDPOINT — Sandpoint Ceramics will be holding a grand opening event Saturday.

The event, which will be held from 3 to 6 p.m., will be held at its Cedar Street Bridge location.

Located at the bridge, 334 N. First Ave., the studio is a one-of-a-kind facility offering classes and workshops tailored to all abilities, owner Jamie Danielson said on her website.

"Whether you are a resident of North Idaho or just visiting, Sandpoint Ceramics is a welcoming space where people of all ages can immerse themselves in the art of ceramics," Danielson said. "Here, you can create high-quality ceramic pieces while forming lasting memories."

A former high school ceramics teacher, Danielson has a bachelor's degree in studio art and a master's degree in education leadership. Through the studio, Danielson said she wants to bring "the joy of clay" to the community.

From hands-on education to interactive workshops and private events, Sandpoint Ceramics has something for everyone, Danielson said.

Various techniques are taught, from hand-building to throwing on a wheel, giving class participants a chance to explore the diverse options available with clay. Also, workshops and private events allow participants to focus on specific projects and have fun at the same time.

"Our classes are interactive and designed for pottery enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels," Danielson said on the website. "Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced artist, these sessions offer the perfect blend of instruction and creativity."

The studio is open Wednesday through Thursday, 12-6 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Saturday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.; and Sunday, 1-4 p.m.
