PREP VOLLEYBALL: Sandpoint falls to Bonners Ferry in five-set thriller

BONNERS FERRY — The host Lady Badgers took the Lady Bulldogs to five sets and clinched a 3-2 victory (25-22, 13-25, 17-25, 25-20, 12-15) in a non-league 5A/4A battle at Bonners Ferry High on Friday.

Despite it not being the result Sandpoint expected, head coach Piper Wahlin said senior Calie Bailey played well despite being sick and that senior Betti Travers and junior Ruby Eder came off the bench and contributed in a big way in the team’s fourth set win.

Junior Gretta Beck led the Lady Bulldogs with a team-high five aces and 17 digs.

Sandpoint (0-3) will travel to Moscow on Tuesday.
