BTAA has successful 'Giving Tuesday' fundraiser
Better Together Animal Alliance's annual Giving Tuesday fundraiser was successful, raising over $24,000 to date. With a generous couple matching up to $15,000, the campaign totaled an incredible $39,000 to support pets in need across the community.
The celebration featured 12-year-old Augie Fisher, a young philanthropist who operates his "business," A Dog's Latte, annually at BTAA. Selling cocoa, cider, cupcakes, cookies, and now famous lemon bars — with the help of his mom, Katie, sister Iylla, and brother Sullivan — Fisher has raised nearly $50,000 for BTAA’s mission.
"His dedication is an inspiring testament to the power of compassion and community," Andrea Nagel, BTAA director of storytelling and partnerships, said.
While Giving Tuesday has passed, BTAA officials said it isn't too late to support the organization's efforts to care for pets in need. Donations fund critical programs, including its Temporary Loving Care program to provide short-term support to keep pets and families together during challenging times.
Other programs supported include access to essential veterinary care and resources, end-of-life care and support, pet food, and stray and adoption services.
In addition to donations, community members can choose to adopt new pets from the shelter, Nagel said. BTAA is participating in the BISSELL Pet Foundation’s Empty the Shelters event, waiving adoption fees for all adult pets through the holiday season. This initiative aims to find loving homes for pets before the holidays, ensuring they can spend the season with a family of their own.

"Together, we can make a difference for pets in need this holiday season and beyond," Nagel said.
